Invoke Article 6 of the UN Charter

Subject: Urgent Request to Invoke Article 6 of the UN Charter & Mobilize the Group of Friends for U.S. Accountability

Your Excellencies,

As steadfast defenders of the United Nations Charter and the principles of multilateralism, sovereignty, and international law, we call upon the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China, in your capacity as leading members of the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations, to initiate proceedings under Article 6 of the UN Charter for the suspension of the United States of America from the United Nations.

Legal & Moral Justification

The United States has persistently violated the UN Charter and international law through:

1. Unilateral Wars of Aggression (Iraq 2003, Syria, Libya, Yugoslavia) – in breach of Article 2(4).

2. Coercive Unilateral Sanctions (Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, Zimbabwe) – violating UNGA Resolution 2625 (XXV).

3. Defiance of ICJ & UNGA Resolutions (Nicaragua v. USA, Palestine, etc.) – undermining Article 25.

4. Undermining UN Bodies (Withdrawing from UNESCO, WHO, Paris Accords, blocking ICC) – eroding Chapter IV.

Under Article 6, a member that “has persistently violated the Principles contained in the present Charter” may be expelled by the General Assembly upon the Security Council’s recommendation. Given the U.S. veto power, we urge the Group of Friends—comprising 18 Member States (Algeria, Belarus, Bolivia, China, Cuba, DPRK, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Iran, Laos, Mali, Nicaragua, Palestine, Russia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Syria, Venezuela, Zimbabwe)—to:

• Formally table a UNSC debate on U.S. violations, forcing a public vote.

• Mobilize the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) to demand GA Resolution 377 (“Uniting for Peace”) as an end-run around U.S. vetoes.

• Launch a Global South diplomatic offensive to isolate the U.S. politically.

Duty of the Group of Friends

As the guardians of the UN Charter, the Group must:
✔ Lead a coalition to document U.S. violations in a White Paper for submission to the UNGA.
✔ Demand sanctions under international law (e.g., freezing U.S. assets in UN-administered territories).
✔ Expose U.S. hypocrisy by contrasting its actions with its rhetoric on “rules-based order.”

Why the UN Must Act

Only the United Nations can impose lawful, multilateral sanctions—unlike the U.S.’s rogue economic warfare. Suspending a serial violator would:

• Restore the UN’s credibility as a neutral arbiter.

• Set a precedent against Western exceptionalism.

• Empower the Global South to reclaim the Charter.

Time is of the essence. We urge your governments to table this matter before the UNSC and rally the Group of Friends to act. The world cannot afford silence.
