Balancing between this world and the hereafter
To eat and drink, I need to work to make money.
If I work wiht the intention of the pleasure of Allah, gaining the hereafter.
Divine-based community, nation and humanity.
Accepting the ultimate axiom of human knowledge and reality.
They focus on one hadith and ignore the rest
Murjiah is Bidah
Actions are not part of Imaan – They focus on the mercy of Allah.
The Prophet SAW said, “Whoever says Laaillaha, Allah will protect him from the fire of hell.”
But their are many other hadith.
Enter Islam in it’s totality.
Focussing on people of bidah, but forget that those people are still Muslims.
Are they Muslims, or mubtadi’ ?
You will not love each other until you give salaam to each other.
Not allowed for a Muslim to boycott a Muslim for more than 3 days.
If you have a child, and he has potential to achieve more.
You might subject him to some hardship in order for him to wake up and achieve as he should be.
Thoughout history, we were the main superpower.
It is painful, but Allahs SWT wants to shock us to wake up and be in the leading position again.
To be the leading nation and the best of nations.
- Reform your Imaan and connect with Allah SWT.

- There is no such thing as unIslamic knowledge.

- If you want to enjoy. Work hard now, so you can injoy in the akhirah.
- We have challenges around us.
- We need to enjoin the good and forbid the evil.
Allah promised us victory.
The main job of the prophets is islaah.
Calling to the vision of tawheed, to worship Allah and islaah, etc.
There are many interpretations of Islaah?
Some limit Ibadah to spirituality.
Some limit Ibadah to law.
Some limit Ibadah to having a good civil society.
Some limit Ibadah to Military
Some claim they are comperehensive.
Some look at ibadah from an individual perspective.
Some look at ibadah from a wholistic perspective.
The ulema have to deal with all of the above.
If you can’t do it, encourage others to do it.
The Muslim ummah to worship Allah without being intimidated.
We need a strong ummah.
Give ideal purpose of the dawah and islaah, of systems and individuals.
The systems and the systems are interdependent.
Individuals and systems should submit to Allah.
Not interested in fixing anti-Islamic systems.
Focussing on individuals and social.
We are either progressing or regressing, no one is staying the same.
The world was not without war for 50 years. The world is changing all the time.
Books of Fiqh
Are the books of fiqh suitable to deal with contemporary problems ?
Where does it talk about:
- Fiat Money: Talks about mal as it was defined at that time.
- Economic System
- Social system: Marriage technicalities in a micro way.
- Khilafah System: Jihad is wajib. We cannot implement it.
Must be explained correctly.
Islam is irrelevant and obsolete
Scholars of aqeedah and fiqh wrote revevant books for their time.
We could not contextualize.
They says Islam is confined to Ibadat.
We need to import all other systems.

Shariah is the best. That is given.
Nowadays, we have to write marraige is between male and female.
It was given that marraige was between male and female.
Maqasid of Shariah
Ibn Taymiyya mentioned Iman and Akhlaaq among the maqasid al Shariah.
When a reason is given, it’s the purpose, the maqsad.
There is not conflict between the cosmic order and the legal order.
The purpose of the Shariah
Indeed, We offered the trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, but they ˹all˺ declined to bear it, being fearful of it. But humanity assumed it, ˹for˺ they are truly wrongful ˹to themselves˺ and ignorant ˹of the consequences˺, so that Allah will punish hypocrite men and women and polytheistic men and women, and Allah will turn in mercy to believing men and women. For Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 33:72
Indeed We have sent Our Messengers with clear proofs, and revealed with them the Scripture and the Balance (justice) that mankind may keep up justice. And We brought forth iron wherein is mighty power (in matters of war), as well as many benefits for mankind, that Allah may test who it is that will help Him (His religion), and His Messengers in the unseen. Verily, Allah is All-Strong, All-Mighty. 57:25
Allah says, “Do they not, then, ponder upon the Qur’ān? Had it been from someone other than Allah, they would have found in it a great deal of discrepancy”
4:82

Power breeds injustice
“Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). Because he considers himself self-sufficient (independent).” (96:6-7)
Man need to obey an authority above them, or they will transgress each other.
Muslims are the only nation in the world, that can establish justice, because they believe in Allah.
The work of the ulema is to push the ummah to become a superpower, so the world can benefit from the justice of Islam.

Establishing Justice cannot happen unless we understanding ibadah in a comprehensive way, once the systems obey Allah.
We failed to write books for our context
Contextualization of Shariah, is to ensure that the aims are achieved.
Make the live easier to achieve the maqasid.
They want to make Islam relevant to our context, and also to be friendly with the objectives of the West.
To help Muslims to achieve the aims of Shariah.
The 1000 year old differences of opinion
Started when their was no atheism, when we were strong.
The books of aqeedah only talk about differences of opinion.
The books of aqeedah don’t talk about one ummah, one nation
It is given.
The mother of the purposes of Shariah in Dunya is To establish justice
Systems are anti-Ibadah.
Many can talk about unity, but only a few can provide tools for unity.
Islam is not only about differences of opinion. Allah wants us to be the leaders of humanity.
How do we reform the ummah to become what Allah wants it to be?

Not a war in Gaza. It is a clash of civilizations.
It is a conflict between those who want to live according to oppression and those who want to live according to justice.
It is a conflict between those who worship other than Allah SWT and those who submit to Allah SWT.
It is a global conflict, rather than a conflict between Gaza and the occupation.
One of the reasons Allah is testing us is because Allah is preapring us to be one of the leading nations again.
Allah SWT chose the nation of the Prophet SAW to be the best of nations.
Allah SWT does not want this ummah to be a backward nation.
Allah SWT wants one thing from this ummah. That is to be the leader of all nations.
The Prophet SAW is the leader of humanity, that means the Muslims must be the leaders of humanity.
Allah SWT wants to wake us up to reform ourselves to be the leading nation.
When Allah SWT mentioned unity, he mentioned power.
“They are the best of nations. They enjoin good and forbid evil”
Haraam is harmful, so people should say let us compromise on the haraam.
Treat sensitive issues sensitively.
Treat important issues accordingly.
Unity
“Whoever prays the salaah and face our qiblah and eats halaal.”
This is the core of our unity.
The difference in Aqeedah is small, compared to the commonalities.
Activism – Be effective in these seven areas
Don’t say that this masjid has a different Aqeedah. They don’t worship the idols. They worship Allah.
and those who want to live according to justice.
Those that want to live according to Justice and those that want to live according to oppression.

Allha is the standard for judgement. They are living without a standard, or a human standard.
