strategic objectives, imperatives and strategy
has for the past century been to stop the rise
of a continental power. This means the US
would need to engage in the world, creating
a balance of power in the different regions to
ensure no nations or a group of nations could
become a continental power. For the US such
a power would arise in Eurasia and therefore
the US needed to be engaged on the world
stage.
