The purpose of creation

  1. “And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.” 51:56
    1. Worship Allah
      1. To know Allah’s Worldview and Attributes.
      2. To glorify Allah and His Attributes, is the essence of worship.
      3. To love Allah and His Attributes, more than anyone loves anyone else.
      4. To fear Allah only, and to never fear to fear death nor to fear any human being.
        1. To perfect people’s character
  2. “O believers! Protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, overseen by formidable and severe angels, who never disobey whatever Allah orders—always doing as commanded.” 66:6
    1. Building a family that is pleasing to Allah
  3. “We have certainly sent Our messengers with clear proofs, and We sent down with them the Scripture and the Balance so that people may maintain justice.” 57:25
    1. Establish Islamic Justice in the world
      1. Islam is a universal mercy for all nations.
      2. Islam is justice, peace and mercy.
      3. Promote Good and Prevent Evil.
      4. To hold people accountable or remind them that Allah will hold them accountable.
  4. “O believers! If you are mindful of Allah, He will grant you a criterion (Furqan) to distinguish right from wrong…” 8:29
    1. Allah-consciousness is required, to apply the criterion of Right and Wrong 
      1. Provides a moral compass in a world of confusion
  5. “Did you think that We created you without purpose, and that you would not be returned to Us?” 23:115
    1. To live a life of purpose
  6. “Then We made you vicegerents on Earth after them, to see how you would act.” 10:14
    1. To be caretakers of Allah’s creation.
      1. You responsible for yourself and all the good people in the world.
  7. “Do they seek the judgment of ignorance? Who is better than Allah in judgment for a people who are certain?” 5:50
    1. Human-made laws (e.g., racism, capitalism, tribalism) are false criteria compared to Allah’s law.

  • Goals give meaning and value
  • What role is the community have you been created for?
  • Each person has been given unique gifts and knowledge by Allah.
  • If you don’t figure it out, the Ummah ends up missing out on the contribution you were supposed to make.
  • If you don’t listen to your purpose, you will have wasted your life, and you will regret it.
  • If your goals are fragmented, than no behavior will move you forward.
  • Identify a problem you really want to solve.
  • Identify a product you love and want to improve.
  • Pursue what Allah directs you to pursue.
  • Make a difference – Provide a real transformation
  • To act courageously towards that.
  • Transactional knowledge is MBAs, Doctors, Lawyers.
  • Transformational knowledge only comes from Quran.
  • Ultimately, you have to face your creator alone, with your book of deeds.
  • Life is usually filled with restlessness.
  • Having a healthy narrative for your life is very important.
  • When you believe in yourself, it means you believe in possibilities and your potential.

Know your purpose

  • Reflect on Your Values: Take some time to think deeply about your core values and beliefs. What truly matters to you in life?
  • Explore Passions: Explore your interests and passions. What activities or causes make you feel most alive?
  • Seek Guidance: Consider seeking guidance from mentors, coaches or religious leaders who can help you explore your purpose more deeply.

Know your potential

  • Explore Interests: Begin by exploring your interests and passions. What activities make you feel genuinely excited?
  • Self-Reflection: Spend time in self-reflection to gain a deeper understanding of your strengths, values and aspirations.
  • Set Growth Goals: Start setting personal development goals that challenge you to step out of your comfort zone.

Know your path

  • Clarify Your Mission: Continue refining your understanding of your life’s mission or calling.
  • Goal Alignment: Ensure that your goals are closely aligned with your mission and regularly assess your progress.
  • Seek Guidance: Consider seeking mentorship or guidance from those who have experience in your area of mission.

Know your process

  • Spiritual Practices: Consider incorporating regular spiritual practices, such as prayer or meditation, into your daily routine.
  • Community Engagement: Seek opportunities to engage with your community and contribute to initiatives that align with your faith.
  • Ethical Reflection: Reflect on your daily actions and decisions to ensure they align with your ethical and moral values.

 

 

Ask the big questions.

  • Right eye to left eye contact creates and emotional resonance loop.
  • Physical interactions create trust and bond.
  • Bath, warmth, hugs, share emotional experiences.
  • Spending time in nature.  All human beings love nature.
  • Having a purpose that makes life worth living.
  • Having creative activity weekly.
  • Meet new people, have new conversations.
